The inaugural College of DuPage Retiree Recognition and Celebration, held on Wednesday, April 24 at Waterleaf, was dedicated to expressing gratitude to COD retirees spanning decades of service. The event, with food and service provided by COD students, included the introduction of a new accolade, the “Chaparral Legacy Award.” This year’s deserving recipients were Barbara Hansen Lemme, Ed.D., Psychology Professor from 1970 to 2002, and Duane J. Ross, Ed.D., who served in Humanities from 1975 to 2005. The event provided the opportunity for COD retirees to reconnect while also celebrating Barbara and Duane’s impact and commitment to the College.
