Ways to Give

COD motion picture television students created this video to show how supporting COD students changes lives.

Whether it is a student you want to motivate, a loved one you wish to honor, or an educational program you would like to see expanded, the College of DuPage Foundation is here to help. To give to COD and increase the impact public higher education has on our community, please consider the following giving options available through the College of DuPage Foundation:

One-time or recurring gifts can be made securely through the online donation form (link) using your credit or debit card.

Recurring Gifts

What is a recurring gift? A recurring gift is an ongoing, specific gift amount determined by a donor charged monthly to a donor’s credit card. Your recurring gifts will be a dependable source of support that COD can count on throughout the year.

How do I sign up? You can sign up securely through the online donation form for as little as $5 each month by selecting recurring gifts under Additional information. Your credit card will be charged the designated amount monthly until you notify us otherwise.

Program Benefits
Spreading your support throughout the year is a convenient way to include your donations into your budget. Monthly giving is the most cost-efficient way to deliver your support.

Great satisfaction. You will know you are helping COD provide an exceptional student experience each month.

Convenience. Your gift will appear each month on your credit card when you participate in the COD Foundation’s Recurring Gift Program. We will send you a calendar year-end tax receipt each January to help in your tax preparations.

Reduced paperwork and administrative expenses. Automatic monthly payments mean more of your donation goes to where it is needed most.

Flexibility. If for any reason you wish to increase, decrease, discontinue your gifts, or change the credit card being charged, email the COD Foundation at foundation@codfound.org or call (630) 942-2462, and we will gladly accommodate you.

Donating cash is as simple as writing a check or authorizing a charge on your credit card. Checks and money orders should be made payable to the College of DuPage Foundation. You will receive a charitable tax deduction that can provide you with savings on your current year’s tax return.

Checks may be mailed to:

College of DuPage Foundation
P.O. Box 4866
Wheaton, IL 60189

Stocks, bonds, or mutual funds that have increased in value and have been held for more than one year are some of the most popular assets used for charitable giving. By making a gift of appreciated assets, you can avoid paying capital gains tax that would otherwise be due if you sold these assets, and they are tax-deductible for the full fair market value when the gift is made. If you own securities with lost value, you can sell the stock, take a capital loss deduction, and make a gift to the Foundation.

Please notify the College of DuPage Foundation when making a stock gift to allow us to allocate the proceeds of the stock sale to the proper fund, according to your wishes.

Most people do not use all of their retirement assets during their lifetime. A gift of retirement assets from your IRA, 401k, 403b, pension, or other tax-deferred plan, could make an excellent way to give back thanks to special tax considerations. Retirement plan beneficiary designations can be changed at any time by contacting your investment manager, or by logging into your retirement account and changing the beneficiary and gift percentage online.

The College of DuPage Foundation Board of Directors and the College of DuPage Board of Trustees approve all real estate gifts. Gifts of real estate may include developed property, undeveloped property, or gifts subject to a prior life interest. The property must be without environmental concerns and generally readily marketable.

To learn more about the process of donating real estate, please contact foundation@codfound.org or call 630.942.2462.

Gifts in kind are non-cash contributions of goods or services. COD receives various in-kind gifts that include artwork, supplies, cars, uniforms, computer hardware, and more.

To determine if your donation qualifies, please contact us at  foundation@codfound.org or call 630.942.2462.

Do you have an old or unneeded car, truck, boat, or other vehicle sitting in your driveway or taking up space in your garage? Consider donating it to the Foundation.

To learn how to donate your vehicle, please contact foundation@codfound.org or call 630.942.2462.
